I have such fond memories of Gracie when we were in high school.  She was one of my sisters best friends.  We would pick her up Sunday mornings to go to Mass at Blessed Sacrament Church.  
Her wedding on June 9, 1978 was my husband and my first date.  We married six years later on June 9, 1984.  We were honored to have Gracie and Johnny at our wedding as they celebrated their wedding anniversary.

I remember Mrs. Alonzo from high school. I went to high school with her daughter, Selena, and I remember Mrs. Alonzo always being there at the school events and games. I always remember her sweet smile and her telling us hi. She was a proud mother and very supportive, attending Selena's games and events. Mrs. Alonzo you will be missed by family and friends. May you rest in peace.

My mom loved the beach! Even more than loving the beach these trips were a special time for our family to enjoy each other’s company. If you knew my mom family time was the most important time to her. She loved making memories with us and her grand babies. 

I would like to send my deepest and sincerest condolences to the Alonzo family. I have been a friend to the family since my middle school days where my enduring friendship with Juan Jr began. I spent many a weekend, birthday and other numerous celebrations with them and my childhood was greatly enriched by these experiences. Senora Alonzo was like a second mother and always made me feel loved and like family. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

We are very saddened to hear of Gracie’s passing.  We are still in disbelief and cannot help but think of all the happy,  memorable times we all shared during our younger years. We remember how excited we were when you both came to visit us in Charleston, SC from Ft Brag, NC.  It seems  like it was just yesterday and we feel so blessed to have spent those few days in your company.
