Graciela (Grace) Hinojosa, age 85, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2016 in San Antonio, Texas. Grace was born on March 15, 1931 in Brownsville, Texas. She met the love of her life, Hilario Hinojosa, married and moved to San Antonio where they raised their lovely daughters. Her spiritual attitude made a great impact on all the people that she touched throughout life.
Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Fernando and Nazaria Saenz, and Grandson Ely Del Rio. Grace is survived by her husband Hilario Hinojosa of 65 years, her five daughters, Delia Ybarra, her husband Enrique, Diana Del Rio, Dalia Leal, her husband Rudy, Raquel Taylor, her husband Anthony, and Rosanne Ramirez; 15 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and 2 great great-grandchildren and other family and friends.
Grace had a career working in the cafeteria service field and retired from the NIX Hospital after 15 years of service. She first attended Trinity Baptist Church where she was saved in Jesus Christ in 1977. She then attended Templo Alabanza, then became a member of Revival Temple now Destiny Church in 1987. The last church she attended was Cross of Christ Family Worship Center. Grace as she was known by many of her Brothers and Sisters in Christ lived for the Lord. While at Destiny, she volunteered gladly to work in the nursery. She also served as a greeter with a smiling face for many years. She always volunteered to help with vacation bible school because she wanted all of the Grandchildren to attend VBS, where many of her Grandkids and Great Grandkids were saved and baptized. She liked for all to learn the word of God. She was a prayer warrior and interceder. If any one needed prayer they would call her and she would immediately pray for them so she would not forget to pray. She always prayed for her family by naming each one to the Lord. Never prayed in general, she was very specific when she prayed. Always witnessing to everyone everywhere she went. If during a conversation she saw a need, she would stop and pray for them. we were very fortunate to have a praying Mother. As she got older it was difficult to attend church, but she kept praying for everybody until the day she went to be with the Lord. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.
Love you Mom!
