

Graciela Peña Vitela, age 87, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2024. She was born in San Antonio Texas in the suburb of Alamo Cementville on November 29, 1937 to Juan and Carlotta Peña. Sisters Bridget "Vicky", Carolina and Alicia, and brothers Juan, Abelardo, Arturo, Jose Hector, and Salvador.
She was apart of St. Anthony De Padua Church for over 70 years and an active member of The Guadalupaña Society for 40 years. Displaying a beautiful passion for her faith she sang in the choir for 45 years. Graciela truly lived life to the fullest through singing, dancing, and being around family and friends.
She is reunited in death by her parents Juan and Carlotta Pena, siblings Bridget "Vicky" Gonzalez, Juan Pena, Abelardo Pena, Jose Hector Pena, Arturo Pena, Salvador Pena, and Carolina Nacieneno. Her beloved children Ricardo Vitela and Annamarie Gillaspia, son in law José Alvarado, and granddaughter Kelly Marie Alvarado.
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years Lazaro Vitela Sr, children Lazaro Vitela Jr., Norma Alvarado, Francis, Vito and Genaro, her son-in-law Eric Gillaspia, and daughter-in-law Cindy Dixon. Graciela is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Vanessa (Anthony) Castillo, Ryan Vitela, Rachael (Justin) Morante, Renée (David) Ferron, Rebecca Johnson, and Kennith Johnson Jr. Including 15 great grandchildren.
As we go and say our farewells, lets all remember her undying love for us and her strong faith in God. Also, remember the mark Graciela left on the world and to everyone that she touched. May she forever rest in the loving arms of our Lord.
