Condolences to Scott’s family. I grew up 2 doors down from the Horton’s house. I was am Denise’s bratty little sister and would go down to the house often. Scott was always friendly and fun, as was the whole family. Scott played his music loud. Whenever I hear Janis Joplin I think of Scott. I pray God’s comfort for the family.

Scott will be greatly missed.  His birthday was the day after mine and when we worked together at SWHS Career & Tech we always made a point to remember each other. He was a kind and gentle soul. He loved his family and music. His students loved him. I know he is going to make heaven a more lively place with some great music.

Scott and I instantly clicked when I began caring for him, bonding over laughter and music as we listened to his favorite records and danced together.

 His playful personality shone brightly, and his love for bananas and sweet treats. 

Every visit brought a radiant smile and warm embrace, and his eyes sparkled with pride as he pointed to cherished photos. 

Although memory struggles occasionally clouded his mind, one person stood out vividly when pointing to her picture, he'd exclaim, 'Wow, check her out! Isn't she lovely!

 Myrtha, he loved and adored you deeply. 

Each moment we shared was a treasure, filled with joy and warmth. At times we'd pray, when life's challenges seemed insurmountable, Scott exemplified unconditional love, inspiring me with his resilience and faith.

 I'll deeply miss him, but I'm grateful our paths crossed. 

Scott, you now shine brightly as a guiding star, watching over loved ones with love. May your legacy of love and laughter continue to inspire us all.

God bless you Myrtha, Catherine, Lindsey, and Trey.  Scott and  I  had a lot of great years together teaching Driver Education at Southwest High School.  He was a great man.  It was fun.  He will be missed.  Thoughts and prayers  are with you and your family.

We are so deeply saddened to hear about the passing of our sweet neighbor. Scott was not only our neighbor, but a true friend to us all. My boys always loved seeing him and listening to him play his records, something we know he truly enjoyed.

He was incredibly kind — always bringing our trash cans up, saying he enjoyed doing it because he needed the exercise, though we know it was really because he had a generous heart and loved helping others. We will always cherish his fun stories and wonderful sense of humor, and he will be missed more than words can say.

Myrtha, our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time. Please know we are just a few feet away if you need anything at all.

My cousin Scott had such a big heart.  Back when I was around 8 years old, my parents would drive out from California to Texas to visit “Aunt Helen and family. Scott, Celeste and I would have so much fun together! Scott taught me how to swim in the Hotel’s pool. 
 Later, as teenagers, I would fly out during summer and stay with my aunt.  Scott and I were just a year apart in age, and we shared the same interests.  We attended a “Three Dog Night Concert”, later we saw “Rod Stewart” in concert!  We drove all around San Antonio as teens would do, as we just acquired our driver’s license, laughing and having fun with our newly found freedom. 
Scott had the best sense of humor.  His smile was contiguous!  He loved his baseball cards, vinal records, and sharing opinions about life.  He treasured his family and friends.
Scott introduced me to his childhood friend, Brian, back when I was 14 years old.  Brian was Scott’s best friend- Scott considered Brian his brother, and they have remained best friends over all these years!
There were other occasions over the year where we were together celebrating our visits, but as it goes, life pulled us in all directions with marriages, children, jobs, and distance- but there was always that special connection.
I am grateful to have shared Brian as my long-distance friend. My heart still breaks for the loss of Scott’s older brother, JC Jr. (such a great man), Celeste (such a lovely and giving woman) and now Scott (what a great soul). I still can’t believe you are gone Scott, please say “hi” to Jesus for me.  I look forward to seeing you both– keep the car running!  I Love you.

I was so sad to hear that Scott has passed on to be by the Lord's side.  Scott was always an amazing teacher and a mentor to me when I first started teaching. He always greeted everyone with a smile! He will be missed!

These are some of my words to describe Scott. Fun, funny, music lover, adventurous, sometimes inquisitive, hard worker, people person, good provider, goofy at times, good father, good grandfather, good teacher, good friend, and all around great guy. I had the privilege of knowing Scott for 52 years. We had a lot of fun together him, Brian, and I. Hanging out and enjoying each other's company is some of my fondest memories. Rest in peace brother.

My deepest sympathy to Myrtha and the family of Scott . I am so glad I had the pleasure of meeting such  a gregarious , humorous and intelligent person. He impacted many as an educator and now he is playing his favorite songs to the angels above. God  bless sweet Scott.
