

Born on December 9, 1952, in Crystal City, Texas, she was the daughter of Victoriano Serna and María Nevárez. Guadalupe was raised in Crystal City and graduated from Crystal City High School in 1971.
In 1986, she married Juan Cerna, and together they had two beloved daughters. For over 20 years, Guadalupe worked as a dedicated secretary at The Center for Health Care Services, where she made a lasting impact on those she worked with.
A woman of many interests, Guadalupe found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved solving crossword puzzles, playing games like bingo and Lotería, and most of all, cherishing moments spent with her family. Her granddaughters, Havana and Saniya, brought her immeasurable joy, and she adored being a part of their lives.
Guadalupe will be remembered as a loving soul, always caring for others with a kind heart and infectious spirit. She had a unique ability to bring happiness to those around her, and her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Juan Cerna; her parents, Victoriano Serna and María Nevárez; her brothers, Victoriano, Richard, Rubén, and Juan Serna; and her sister, Lydia Serna.
She is survived by her daughters, Melinda and Lydianna, her son in law, granddaughters Havana and Saniya, brothers Gilberto and Ramiro and numerous nieces and nephews.
Guadalupe’s legacy of love, warmth, and joy will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to know her.
