He is preceded in death by his parents Miguel and Juanita Mata; siblings, Miguel Mata Jr. Adan Mata, Eva Mata, Homero Mata, Baudelio Mata.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years Rosa Mata; children, Jose Mata, Marco Mata (Sandra), Rocio Wolfe (Fernando), Veronica Marin (Jose); 21 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren and siblings, Virginia Mata and Rogelio Mata.
A construction worker by trade, he was proud to share with his family the many buildings in San Antonio, Dallas and California that he contributed to. He enjoyed fishing at Braunig lake, hunting and spending time with his family in town and in Mexico. He was very energetic, never letting anything or anyone get his spirit down.
A Visitation for Guadalupe will be held on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211 with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM.
