

Guy Attaway, born October 26, 1925, in Logansport, LA, passed away on April 3, 2004. He was the son of Clara Reat Attaway and Guy M. Attaway. Guy moved to Dime Box, TX at age 5 and graduated for high school in 1941 at age 16. After graduation, he began to work for Texaco in Houston.
Guy served in the Air Force as a navigator during World War II from 1943 to 1945. After the service, he attended Sam Houston University and upon graduation in 1947 returned to Texaco to continue his career. Guy worked for Texaco in various departments in the sales division in Port Arthur, Houston, and San Antonio.
After 41 years with Texaco, Guy retired in 1983. He was preceded in death by his sister, Willie Ruth Marburger. He leaves his wife, Marcine, his daughter and son-in-law, Debroah and David Hall, and one grandson, Matthew Hall.
Guy is also survived by his dear brother and sister-in-law, Wallace and Margaret Attaway of Shreveport, LA as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Guy's life revolved around his family, friends, neighbors, and his church. He loved singing in the choir, talking about the stock market with his financial advisor, visiting with his family and friends, watching and playing sports and taking care of his beloved wife, Marcine, and his canine companion, Mollie.
The family wishes to gratefully acknowledge the support of friends, medical caregivers, and members of Covenant Presbyterian Church during Guy's lengthy illness. The family particularly wishes to thank our dear family friends, Bert and Elaine Thorne and Hal and Alice Cherry, who were always ready to lend a helping hand. Honorary pallbearers will be: Dick Toler, Dick Dykes, Bert Thorne, Dan O'Connell, Ralph Dyckman and Ed Youngblood.
