

Gwen Lee Johnson, age 72, died on Monday, December 31, 2018, at the Methodist Hospital with her family by her side. Gwen was born September 13, 1946, in San Antonio, Texas. In 1965, Gwen graduated from Edison High School in San Antonio, where she met her sweetheart Bill Johnson. Following high school, Bill and Gwen wed on August 27, 1965. Gwen first worked at the Waffle House where she met her lifelong friend Susan Allison. Bill and Gwen had one child, Kimberly. Gwen commenced a 23-year career at USAA. Gwen loved to cook, and her chocolate chip cookies were well known as legendary. Gwen was often called "my other mother" by many, and she unselfishly supported everyone in need. Gwen was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to all. Gwen adored spending time with her two grandsons, Preston and Kanyon, more than anything in the world.
Gwen was preceded in death by Raymond Fox (Father), Betty Lou Fox (Mother), and Kathleen Fox (Sister). Gwen is survived by Bill Johnson (Husband), Kimberly Waclawczyk (daughter), James Waclawczyk (son in-law), Gary Fox (brother), Barbra Fox (sister in-law), Preston Waclawczyk (Grandson), and Kanyon Waclawczyk (Grandson) as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Viewing and visitation for Gwen will be held at Porter Loring located at 1101 McCullough Ave, San Antonio, Texas at 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on January 7, 2019. Services will be given by the Reverend Sue Huntsman at Porter Loring at 10:00 am on January 8, 2019, with burial following at the Lytle Community Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be James Waclawczyk, Gary Fox, Jack Johnson, Tracy Allison, Donald Knight, and Chase Delacerda.
