He was born in Gulfport, Mississippi and was a pioneer in the seafood processing industry, beginning his career in 1938.
He spent many years in Port Lavaca, before moving to Brownsville, and retiring in San Antonio.
He was a former president of the Texas Shrimp Association and served as a director of the national Fisheries Institute.
He was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Anita; three sons, Harold Daniel of Clearwater, FL, Bill Daniel of Humble, and Robert Dalzell of Harlingen; daughter, Grace Dalzell of Helotes; 22 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and a special friend, Diane Del Cid.
