Ed is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Cazares-Baty, his children: Eddie (wife Lisa), Bridget (husband Lesley), Charity (husband Edwin), Jeremiah (wife Alisha), and Abishai, his baby girl. His stepchildren: Vanessa (husband Devin), Steven (wife Genesis), and Matthew (wife Secily).
Ed was a proud grandfather (Dude) to thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He joins his parents and siblings who have gone before him and is survived by his sisters Helen (husband Larry) and Rogena (husband Steven) and his brothers Shawn (wife Diane) and Bille Baty, who will officiate the funeral service. In Ed’s final days, he continued to lift up his family in prayer, ever thankful for how they blessed his life.
Ed served in the United States Air Force as a Survival Equipment Craftsman. This skill and career then became his professional trade following his military service. He became a master upholsterer, a gifted interior designer, and furniture restorer conserving modern and antique pieces of furniture. Ed was basically considered a jack of all trades. Ed has lived in England, Florida, Maine, California, Oregon, and Texas. An adventurer at heart, he enjoyed taking road trips and seeing new places.
Ed loved to study the Bible and would have many all-night conversations with family and friends about Scripture. God’s Word gave him great peace, and all the more so as the end of his life drew near. He rested in the finished work of Jesus Christ, the author and perfecter of his faith. Ed’s final wishes were that the Gospel be shared at his funeral and that God’s amazing grace and enduring love abound in the lives and hearts of his loved ones.
“I tell you the truth, whoever hears what I say and believes in the One who sent Me has eternal life.”
John 5:24.
