

He attended the University of Texas and graduated from Trinity University, and then earned his medical degree from Southwestern Medical School in Dallas.
He practiced medicine for over 40 years. He was a pioneer in the field of occupational medicine and maintained a thriving medical practice.
"Doc" will be fondly remembered by his patients and colleagues for his attentive, compassionate care, his quick wit and love of practical jokes.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 53 years, Gloria Ray Cooper; children: Ondrea Cooper Sirken and husband, Allen of Dallas; Louis Cooper and wife, Susanne of San Antonio; and Randy Cooper and wife, Yanela of Dallas; grandchildren: Zac and Charlotte Cooper, Brandon Sirken, Carly, Courtney and Camille Cooper. Other survivors include Sally Cooper, wife of his beloved brother, Dr. Elmer E. Cooper, M.D.; numerous nieces and nephews.
He will be missed by his constant furry companion, Ashley.
Special thanks to the numerous caregivers who cared for him dearly.
The family will be receiving visitors on Friday, April 25th from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at the H. N. Cooper home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warm Springs Rehabilitation Center, 5101 Medical Drive, San Antonio, TX 78229, where he was rehabilitated in his own personal struggle with polio.
He remained involved with Warm Springs throughout his life.
