

At age two, his family returned to Goteborg, Sweden where he was educated at the Polytechnic. He joined the Swedish Merchant Marine at 23 and subsequently served in the United States Navy during World War II as a Chief Petty Officer aboard mine sweepers in the south China seas.
"Ron' retired from Federal Civil Service in 1982 with assignments in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Hawthorne Naval Depot, Hawthorne, NE and Williams AFB, AZ.
He and Gladys enjoyed touring the country and making new friends when they traveled by motor home. He was a member of the Vasa Order of America and the Elks Lodge.
Everyone knew him as a loyal and generous friend who could fix anything mechanical and gave unstintingly of his time and knowledge.
A loving father and devoted husband, he will be missed by his wife, Gladys; daughter, Geraldine Dahlquist; sons, Ronald Dahlquist and Gary Dahlquist; and granddaughters, KariAnna Dahlquist and Georgia Rose Dahlquist.
Internment and a memorial service will be held at a later date at the family plot in New York.
