He was awarded two Bronze Star Medals for meritorious service while serving in with the 100th Infantry Division on January 23, 1945.
He was also awarded the Good Conduct Medal for his continuous Honorable Service throughout his military career.
He was the president of Vintage Thunderbird Club for several years.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Hill; son, Harold C. Hill, Jr. Butch.
Survived by grandchild, Gretchen Michell "Shelee" Stratton of Washington; three great grandchildren, Hali Stratton, Drew Victoria Stratton, Page Diane Stratton all of Washington; step-son, Stan Inman and wife, Carmen of Converse, Texas.
