Harold Gene Killingstad, age 83, passed away August 3, 2012. He was born on January 28, 1929 in Detroit Lakes, MN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Hendrick and Theoline Mathilda Killingstad. He was a retired U.S. Army SGM and also retired from the Electronic Security Command at Kelly AFB. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ilse L. Killingstad; children, Michael H. Killingstad and wife Raquel, Harold J. Killingstad and Barbara A. Killingstad; granddaughter, Amanda Killingstad; grandson, Christopher Killingstad; sisters, Florence Mercer and Delores Haugrud; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera road on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 from 6:00 P.M to 8:00 P.M. A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 P.M. Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Army military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Fischer House or the Soldiers Angels.
