She was born April 13, 1931, in Uhrichsville, Ohio, to the late Clarence Gilbert and Julia Oliver McCullough James. Harriett returned to college to finish her education when her youngest son entered first grade. She was a Phi Beta Kappa graduate from Trinity University and worked for the US Marshals Service until her retirement.
She expressed her faith in the Lord through the Methodist Church of which she was a member since her youth. Harriett immensely enjoyed traveling, thus, she and Bill, her loving husband of 55 years, spent many happy years touring North America in their RV. One of their greatest adventures was a trip to Alaska. Her Epsilon Sigma Alpha sorority sisters were an important part of her life for the past 40 years and they spent many memorable hours together while serving others.
Harriett is survived by her loving husband, Bill; daughters, Julie Cole and husband, Harrison of Sugar Land, Ellen Dimotsis and husband, George of Lansdale, PA, Kay Ferdin of San Antonio, and Jeanne Lopez and husband, Jose of Selma; sons, Danny Blauser of Arizona, and Bill Blauser and wife Kim of Boerne; grandchildren, Jim and Lauren Cole, Catherine, Michael and Stacey Dimotsis, Carrie Guia and husband, Michael, Jordan Mitchell, Cindy and Natalie Lopez, Evan and Zachary Blauser; great-grandchildren, Michael, Kayla and Michelle Guia; and brother-in-law, Edward Blauser and wife, Millie.
