

She and her parents, Dr. Garrett Peter and Mrs. Golda Coley Robertson, were long-time residents of the city. She graduated from Main Avenue High School and the University of Wisconsin, after attending Randolph-Macon College.
Mrs. Buenz was characterized by an active interest in and outreach to her family, and a wide and varied circle of friends and relatives, a keen and inquiring intellect, engagement in a variety of cultural interests of this City and a sixty-year active and devoted membership in Christ Episcopal Church and the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. In many ways she carried her long experience of San Antonio and its people in her active memory, and this memory she delighted in sharing with her many younger friends as background to their own lives.
She was a long-time member of the History Club of San Antonio, the Junior League of San Antonio, the Samuel Capers Guild of Christ Church and was interested in the work of the Witte, McNay, and San Antonio Art Museums and the San Antonio Symphony.
She was predeceased by her husband, long-time San Antonio Architect, J. Fred Buenz, whom she married in 1931.
She is survived by two sons, John F. Buenz, Jr. and his wife Marilyn of Cupertino, CA and Peter R. Buenz and his wife Claire of Baytown, TX; granddaughters Sheri Beall of Freemont, CA, Julee Arbuckle of Gilroy, CA, and Winifred Seghers of Garland, TX; and six great grandsons and three great granddaughters.
