

Harry Edwin Sims was born October 5, 1946 in San Antonio, Texas and entered rest April 21, 2015 after a valiant fight against cancer. He graduated from Jefferson High School in 1964, attended SAC and UTSA. He used his talents in financial management to become a successful businessman/developer. Harry loved to plant seeds in nature and in people and watch them grow. He was a gregarious, thoughtful, caring person always willing to help others; a loyal friend; a philanthropist; a super handyman who could fix anything; a great chef; a witty humorist who always had a joke; a detail-oriented problem solver; an avid reader; a conservative; and a Patriot. He enjoyed crossword puzzles and Classic Western everything. He was part of the Next Generation of the Texas Lost Battalion Association, a group of WWII veterans who survived 3 ½ years as POWs of the Japanese building the Burma-Thailand Death Railway. He admired, honored and loved these remarkable men and their families. Harry also loved the Texas landscape, particularly Big Bend and the Hill Country. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and “buying” Oak trees by chopping cedar at his ranch in Hunt, Texas.
Harry was preceded in death by his father, Harry Alton Sims, his mother, Marjorie Burg Sims, and his grandmother, Chloe Schneider Burg. He is survived by his devoted wife, Sharon Ann Brimhall, his sister, Carol Sims Allen, and numerous other family members and friends.
