

April 17, 2021. We are grateful for his faithful journey and victory in eternal life with Jesus
Christ.
Harvey was born on September 29, 1927 in Wilson, TX to James Denson and Elsie Maeker
Hancock. During his senior year at Yorktown High School he met the love of his life,
Kathryn (Kathy) Alex; they were married March 24, 1946 and were blessed with 73 years
together in San Antonio. Harvey was a highly successful and well respected General
Contractor. He owned H H Hancock, Inc for over 52 years, being responsible for the
construction of many churches, schools, banks, hospitals, and other businesses throughout
San Antonio.
He was a man of strength, integrity and generosity with a soft heart for family, friends and
those in need. Kathy and Harvey served in a variety of ways over many years as members of
MacArthur Park Lutheran Church. Fishing, hunting, traveling, and his monthly luncheon with
“the guys” were some of Harvey’s favorite activities, but what he cherished most was
celebrating life together with his devoted wife, kids, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Harvey was survived by his daughter, Sandy Bradford and husband, Bill; his daughter, Karen
LaMotta and husband, Chuck; 6 grandchildren: Jennifer Fogle and husband, Tim; Tracie
Wallace and husband, Jim; Aaron Bradford and wife, Kristen; Michael LaMotta and wife, Stacy.
Ryan LaMotta and wife, Sheri; Kyle LaMotta and wife, Amy; 12 great grandchildren; several
nieces and nephews; He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Etta Joyce
Gaubatz and Opal Ray Johnson; a son-in-law, Steve Herzig; a great granddaughter, Hannah
Wallace; several nieces and nephews.
Harvey will be forever loved, respected and missed.
