

She was born on February 3, 1914 in Valley Springs, Llano County and was the eighth child of Martin and Catherine Peters Reeves. She was preceded in death by both parents, four sisters and four brothers.
The family moved to Harlingen, TX in 1917 where her father was a pioneer restaurant owner.
Hazel was educated in nine different schools, finishing in Edinburg, TX. Her main interests were in Texas History and classical music. Hazel's ancestors came to Texas from Louisiana.
Her great grandfather, Martin Denman, her six brothers and an uncle, Tayler White LeBlanc was with General Sam Houston at the Battle of San Jacinto.
One great uncle, George Kimball, was a defender at the Alamo and several of her ancestors help to settle the state of Texas.
Hazel's interest in family history has helped to publish a new book, Clark's Kimball's and their Cousins.
Hazel married Frank Lee Sewell on January 16, 1936 and had one child, Rosalie Catherine. Mr. Sewell predeceased Hazel and she later married Curtis K. Williams on August 15, 1949 in Santa Fe, New Mexico where they were both employed at Los Alamos. He passed away on November 1985.
She is survived by her daughter, Rosalie Catherine Rhinehart and husband, James W.; grandchildren: Cynthia Thigpen and husband, Rick; Daniel Rhinehart; great-grandchildren: Jessica Duran and husband, Paul; Seth Reeves Thigpen; Cy Wesley Thigpen and wife Crystal; great-great grandchildren: Jude and Liam Duran; numerous great grand nieces and nephews, especially the family of her beloved niece, Kitty Taylor.
As per her wishes, the family has donated her body to the University School of Science with no services scheduled.
Those who desire may send a memorial in Hazel's name to a charity of one's choice.
