

With heartfelt sorrow, we announce the passing of Hector Fernandez, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Hector departed from this world on Good Friday, March 29, 2024, leaving behind cherished memories and a profound legacy.
Born in Isabella, Puerto Rico in 1946, Hector’s journey through life was marked by resilience, dedication, and unwavering love for his family. He spent the majority of his years in Perth Amboy, NJ, where he built a home filled with warmth and love. In 2004, Hector embarked on a new chapter in Land O Lakes, FL, where he continued to touch the lives of those around him.
Hector’s commitment to service was evident from a young age, as he bravely served his country ad a member of the Special Forces during the Vietnam War. Following his honorable service, he transitioned to the National Guard, dedicating 26 years of his life to protecting and serving his community until his retirement in 1995. Hector also dedicated many years of service to Public Service Electric & Gas Company, where he retired, leaving as indelible mark on all those he worked with.
Throughout his life, Hector was a pillar of strength and support for his family. His devotion to his beloved wife, Jazzy Fernandez, spanned over four decades, their bond a testament to enduring love and partnership. Together, they weathered life’s challenges and celebrated its joys, creating a lifetime of cherished memories.
Hector’s love extended to his children, Jennifer, Hector Adam, Neldis, Christopher, and Nicole, each of whom he nurtured and guided with boundless love and wisdom. His grandchildren-Adrian, Cameron, Adam, Tatiana, Gabrielle, William, Caleb, Annalisse, and Isabella-and great-grandson, Carter, were the light of his life, bringing him immeasurable joy and pride. He also cherished his bonus grandchildren, Kevin, Brenden, Jaelyn, Ayden, and Tayton.
Hector is survived by his brother Baldomero Fernandez, with whom he shared a special bond that transcended time and distance, and various nephews and nieces, whose lives were touched by his love and kindness.
Hector will be remembered for his strength, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will forever be cherished.
In honoring Hector’s life, let us find solace in the beautiful moments shared and the love that will continue to bind us together. Though he may have left this world, his spirit will remain eternally present in the hearts of those who loved him.
A celebration of Hector’s life will be held in Florida, details to follow. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Gary Sinise Foundation, in honor or Hector’s memory.
