Heidi Marie Dunn was born in Papillion, Nebraska on September 24, 1978 of parents Gwendalynn and James Dunn. She was raised in a military family and traveled many places in Europe and the United States as a young lady.
Heidi was an admired example of love and warmth for everyone who knew her. She spent the last 15 years of her life in her community and group home that was shared with special friends. They all cherished Heidi because she was innocent, trusting and loving. Heidi was very active in the community throughout her life. She was recognized by the city of San Antonio with an achievement award for special citizens in 2012. In 1985, Heidi won a gold medal for the long jump in Special Olympics competitions. She also served the community as a Meals on Wheels volunteer. She loved horses and enjoyed horseback riding. Heidi’s mother taught her to speak her first word: Love. Heidi lived by her first word throughout her life. Because of the love and support that Heidi gave to everyone, she has left this world a far better place.
