

Helen Norma Arnold, 89, passed away on February 6, 2013. Helen was born on March 9, 1923, in Lynbrook, NY, where she grew up and met her husband Tom. She is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Howard Arnold and her son Thomas Harley Arnold. She left behind her daughter Evelyn Elsie Arnold-Bartsch; grandsons, John Friedeck, Yonthan Arnold, Juan Diego Arnold and Jorge Arnold. On May 26, 1942 Helen and Tom were married. Tom was stationed in the Air Force and they eventually moved to San Antonio, Texas.
In 1958 she started selling Avon door to door. She earned 10 Albee awards for her sales alone. She was one of her manager’s top Avon representative. She then became a manager in 1975, and had over 50 people working for her. In 1977 she was recognized as one of the top 50 managers in the US. She won a trip to Spain because of her sales. In 1985 she became very active with the Universal City Lions Club along with her husband Tom. She retired from Avon in 1987 to work full time for the Lions club until 2003 when Tom, passed away.
Currently she was living with her daughter in Ventura, CA since 2005. She made many new friends at the Ventura Senior Center where she participated in a senior stretching class every Monday and Wednesday until she turned 89. Services will take place at 9:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013 at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
