
Helen was active in the community. . She lived in Grosse Pointe, MI after her marriage to Paul S. Giffin, and after his death she married Dr. C. Hubert Ewing.
She returned to Grand Rapids following Dr. Ewing's death. She was listed in "Who's Who in American Women" in 1966-67.
In Grand Rapids she served on the Board of Directors for the Attwood Corporation, the Child Guidance Clinics, the Women's City Club, Babies Welfare Guild, and Susan Lowe of Butterworth Hospital.
She was an early member of the Mayflower Congregational Church. She was a member of the Sophie de Marsac Campau Chapter of the D.A.R. and the Kent Country Club. During her years in Grosse Pointe she served on the Board of Directors for the Grosse Pointe Shores Garden Center and also for the Colony Town Club and Cancer Loan Closet Foundation of Greater Detroit.
She was also a member of the Economic Club of Detroit. She was a 20 year member of the English Speaking Union of Detroit and the Country Club of Detroit.
Helen is survived by three daughters; Elizabeth Betty Collins and her husband Bob, of San Antonio, TX, Rev. Jean Miller and husband Gene of Kalamazoo, MI, and Susan Bougham and husband Clint of Palos Park, IL; granddaughters, Susan Baldwin and husband James of Dallas, TX, Martha Smith and husband Gordan of San Antonio, TX, Pamala Kay and Husband Dillon of Playa del Rey, CA, Karen Smith and husband David of St. Charles, IL, Glenda Bougham of Elk Grove, IL; grandson, Scott Attwood Norris of Grand Rapids, MI: great grandchildren, Sarah and Marie Baldwin of Dallas, TX, Helen and Graham Smith of San Antonio, TX, Ella Smith of St. Charles, IL.
A Memorial Service will be held art a later date in Grand Rapids, MI following interment at Graceland Cemetery there. Helen and her family were very grateful for the kindness extended to Helen by the entire Brighton Gardens staff, Bluebonnet Hospice of Texas, and the Senior Bridge Family Caregivers.
