Helen Georgacakis

An active member of her Greek Orthodox Church, Helen was a past president of the Philoptochos philanthropic society, a long-time choir member, and a founder of the local Daughters of Penelope chapter. She delighted in the beauty and simplicity of the everyday pleasures she shared with her family and friends, whether it was a cup of coffee, a game of scrabble or a trip to the bookstore.

As a loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Helen influenced everyone around her through her deep Christian faith, love and charity. We pray we may continue her legacy.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, William John Georgacakis.

Helen is survived by her five children, Kathy Nelson and husband, Bruce; Annette Cash; John Georgacakis; Deno Georgacakis and wife, Debbie; Vicky Dolan and husband, Kevin. She will also be lovingly remembered by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. May her memory be eternal.

Visitation will be held Sunday, January 24, 2016 beginning at 5:30 pm with a Trisagion at 6:30 pm at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough Ave.

Service will be Monday, January 25, 2016 at 1:00 pm at St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church, 2504 N. St. Mary's Street.

Interment to follow in Mission Burial Park South. Memorial donations may be made to St. Sophia Greek Orthodox Church.
