

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Marie Loomis Griffith, who passed away peacefully on January 28th, 2023, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born on March 13th, 1930 in Mansfield, Pennsylvania to Charles Parke Loomis and Gladys Juanita Bush Loomis.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Dale Dean Griffith, her son Richard Charles Griffith, her parents Charlie and Gladys Loomis, son-in-law Walter Johnson, son-in-law Edmund Valdes Jr., and brother Lloyd Neal Bush.
She is survived by her son Dale Jr. (Bud) and wife Elouise, son David and wife Cindy, daughter Debbie and husband Gary, daughter Sonya, and daughter Pam as well as 4 grandchildren and a brood of great grandchildren. Helen is also survived by 2 nieces and numerous cousins.
Helen was a loving wife and mother who put family first above all else. She enjoyed music immensely - singing in choirs, playing the piano, saxophone, and violin and was a member of several handbell choirs. She loved reading books and doing handwork, jigsaw and crossword puzzles and word searches as well as spending time with family members, traveling, and camping out. She loved spending time with the ladies in her sewing circle while crocheting baby blankets to gift to family and friends. With a passion for genealogy research, she could often be found delving through records to discover more about her family history & heritage.
Helen was an active member of Madison Hills Baptist Church where she belonged to the Ladies of Grace Sunday school class; the Just Older Youth seniors group and was a long-time member of the Worship Choir. In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a donation can do so to Madison Hills Baptist Church Building Fund in Helen's name.
A funeral service will be held on February 4, 2023, at 6 PM at Madison Hills Baptist Church, located at 15413 O'Connor Road in San Antonio TX USA where friends and family are welcome to attend and celebrate Helen's life.
