Helen Anne Newcomb, age 84, passed away on Sunday, December 9 in San Antonio. She was born on September 4, 1934 in Westport, Connecticut to Andrew John & Mary Ethel (Evans) Pasternak. A devout wife of 51 years, exceptionally loving mother & grandmother, dedicated teacher, loyal, caring, and compassionate friend. Artistic, creative, and free spirited with a unique sense of style, class, and charm. Always the life of the party, quick with a compliment and a well-timed joke.
Helen is survived by her husband, Richard R. Newcomb; sons, Richard R. Newcomb, Jr. and William A. Newcomb; and grandchildren, Richard R. Newcomb, III and Rachel Elizabeth Hazel Newcomb.
A Rosary will be recited at 1:30 P.M. with a Mass to follow at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 14, 2018 at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks, San Antonio, TX 78232. Msgr. Kevin Ryan will officiate. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
