

In her life she brought love and understanding to all of those she touched. She was the kind of friend that everyone cherishes.
She was born in Primera, Texas in the Rio Grande Valley on October 7, 1917. She was the fifth child of Carl and Thea Tanberg. She grew up in a close family with four brothers and three sisters.
Mrs. Short went to college at Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos, Texas. While there, she met and married her husband Bob Short. They had two daughters, Linda and Kristy. They dedicated the rest of their lives to family and educating the children of Texas. She taught school for many years before retiring. Through her love and concern, she touched the lives of many children.
Always active in her faith, she taught Sunday school, Bible school and participated in a multitude of church activities. Right up until her death, she was still an informed, intelligent, inquisitive, witty and loving person that attracted many people to her. She was someone that you just wanted to talk to and be with. She left this world a better place because of her love, caring and interest in others.
Mrs. Short is survived by her daughters, Linda Buddy Clark and Kristy Steve Winston; one sister Mary Matz; two brothers, Carl Lee Tanberg and Walter Tanberg and their families; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
