Helene Rose Meinkoth nee Jansen, 1913 - 2012. "Meme" to her adoring grand children and great grand children, passed away determinedly in her own bed at the home in San Antonio she had built with her beloved husband Vincent in 1960 and christened "The Enchanted Cottage". Mrs. Meinkoth lived a long and fulfilled life, spanning the great American century. She was known and appreciated for an uncommon grace, dignity, and humility, which had withstood the trials of a turbulent childhood, the Great Depression, and two World Wars and flowered in the storybook life she shared with her family. Sustained throughout her life by the great love of her husband Vincent Meinkoth, she now rejoins him in heaven. Her cherished children Vicki and Victor are joined by her grand children Robert, Wade, and Trish and their families in reminiscing about, and retelling for years to come, the many wonderful stories she has gifted to us. A graveside service will be held on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 1:30pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach, San Antonio, TX 78209.
