Helga B. Hulse

Helga was born January 16, 1942 in Wiesbaden, Germany. Due to severe hardships after WWII the Bieser family moved to New York City in April 1954. Soon after moving to Flushing, Queens, New York her father died in 1956.

In 1961 they moved to a newly purchased home on Eastern Long Island. Helga and her twin sister, Gertrud, worked as nurses in the local hospital where she met her future husband Robert on January 3rd, 1962. They married 1 1/2 years later on June 15, 1963. They had two daughters, Lori and Liza, in 1965 and 1966. The family moved to San Antonio, Texas in June of 1983.

Mrs. Hulse was preceded in death by Father Friedrich J. Bieser, Mother Amanda Bieser, 6 brothers, 3 sisters and son-in-law Stanley Lojko, Jr.

Helga is survived by her husband Robert D. Hulse, 2 daughters Lori C. Hulse and Liza Lojko, 2 grandchildren Brittany and Keegan Simmons(Tazra), 1 great granddaughter Zoi Simmons-Gardner, her twin sister Gertrud Drabant(Alex), and nieces and nephews.

Helga enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and especially shopping. She loved her husband, children and grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas, 78218, on December 16, 2025, starting at 2:00 pm.

A committal service will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas, 78218, beginning at 3:00 pm.

A reception will be held in the Lonestar Reception Hall at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas, 78218, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm on December 16, 2025.
