She was born in Atoka, Oklahoma August 4, 1922 to the Rev. Henry Owen Morris and Alma Black Morris, she was raised in Texas and graduated from Baylor University.
She served in the Red Cross in the Philippines, and joined the United States Foreign Service, doing tours of duty in Washington D.C. and Germany, rising to become executive secretary to U.S. Ambassadors and Representatives in London, Peking, Lima and Sydney.
She retired to San Antonio where her father had been the first Chaplain at the downtown Baptist Hospital.
A lover of classical music and opera, she was a lady of Christian integrity, with a delightful sense of humor, and a genuine supporter of good causes.
She was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Gary Morris of Washington D.C., and her sister, Clarice Taylor of Midland, Texas. She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Christopher and Eric Morris, Karen Birkner, Tina Hoover, and Terry and Tim Taylor; her god-daughter and caregiver, Carrie Jacobs.
