

He was born in Dilley, Texas on November 12, 1956 to William E. and Shirley Folsom Carroll. Hank graduated from Pearsall High School in 1975, attended and played baseball for Texas Lutheran College graduating in 1980. While still in college, Hank started his own business which he successfully operated for almost 40 years until his passing. He was an avid runner and sports enthusiast. Hank coached many baseball teams and mentored young athletes over the years. He especially enjoyed watching his nephews and niece with their athletic endeavors. Hank was a fantastic cook and enjoyed cooking for his close group of friends. He also loved to travel especially to Santa Fe which became almost a second home to him in recent years.
Hank was a cherished big brother and uncle who showed his family unconditional love and support. He loved and was loved by his numerous wonderful friends. Hank was a good country boy that grew up on a ranch in South Texas with a legendary cowboy dad and a mom that loved him dearly. He'd have wanted to say: I lived well; escaped the hard ranch life; learned about the world and great food/wine; had many great friendships; and, was an honest, hardworking, warm and caring person. Hank was all of these and much more, he will be deeply missed by the many lives he touched and will remain forever in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Shirley Carroll of Pearsall, Texas; grandparents, Ellis and Ruby Carroll of Pearsall, Texas and I.H. and Patti McAfee of Ganado, Texas. Hank is survived by his sister, Julie Braden and husband John of Yoakum, Texas and brother, Val Carroll and wife Crystal of San Antonio, Texas; nephews, Joel Braden, Jordan Braden, Jace Braden and wife Laura, and Jesse Braden; niece, Jenna Carson and husband Tanner; great-nephews, Tannon Braden and Talon Carson; great-nieces, Ryann Braden and Kylie Carson; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family and friends.
