Henry Castillon, Jr.

Henry Castillon Jr. was born in San Antonio, Texas on February 21, 1938. At the age of 78, he entered the gates of heaven to meet our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 5, 2016. He was the son of Henry and Mary Louise Castillon Sr. Henry was a graduate of St Agnes School, Central Catholic High School, St Mary's University, and Our Lady of the Lake University. He began his career as a teacher and successfully climbed the career ladder to become a school administrator and retired from South San Antonio Independent School District in 1997 after 36 years in education. He is survived by his loving wife Marian, daughter Leticia Ann Castillon and family (Mt View, CA), son Henry Phillip Castillon and family (Dallas, TX), step-son Kurt Shoemaker and family (Cincinnati, OH), sisters, Mary Louise San Miguel, Loretta Butcher, and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

He will be missed by all and has touched many lives, especially his grandchildren, Corben, Lilly, Peyton, Natalie and Elias Henry.

There will be a public visitation (5:00- 9:00pm) and Rosary (7:00pm) on Monday, October 10, 2016 at Porter Loring Mortuary, 1101 McCullough, San Antonio, TX 78212 (Phone: 210-227-8221).

On Tuesday, October 11, 2016 there will be a final viewing for family and friends (8:00am -10:00am) followed by a procession to the burial site. At the site, a special prayer service (11:00am) will be celebrated by Rev. David Flemming at Mission Burial Park North, 20900 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257 (Phone: 210-698-5252) followed by a reception. Details for the reception will be provided at the ceremony.

In lieu of flowers, the family encourages a donation to Central Catholic High School in the name of Henry Castillon Jr., as he dedicated his career to education and maintained lifelong friendships established there.
