He was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 18, 1917.
He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend and served his country honorably in the United States Air Force.
He met the love of his life while serving in the Hawaiian Islands, surviving the attack on Pearl Harbor and the war in the Pacific.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Flora; son, Thayne Cuevas and wife Betty; daughters, Cynthia Riggs and husband Jerry, Mavoureen Hutchins and husband Richard; seven grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; one brother, David Cuevas; and two sisters, Eunice Kondoff and Ester Yarboro.
