

Henry Clay Summerour Jr, born November 6, 1938 in Dawsonville, Georgia, passed away on October 13, 2017 in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Henry C. Summerour and Irma Seay Summerour; brothers, John L. Summerour, William Franklin Summerour, Douglas Walker Summerour; sisters, Juanita Wood and Mary Carol Crymes. Clay is survived by his wife of 57 years, Renae Pape Summerour of Waring, Texas; daughter, Rhonda Jean Haufler (Duane) of Boerne, Texas; son, Douglas Clay Summerour (Patrice) of Washington, Texas; granddaughter, Caroline Brooke Haufler of Boerne, Texas; grandson, Nicholas Garret Summerour of College Station, Texas; sisters, Oleta Jones of Pelham, Alabama, Susie Coleman of Dawsonville, Georgia; Barbara Jean Huffstetler (Ted) of Dawsonville, Georgia; brother, Derik Russell Summerour (Cheryl) of Hartwell, Georgia; sisters in law, Janice Guilliams (Chuck) of La Porte, Texas and Gloria Grahmann of Boerne, Texas, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Clay was very skilled and held many job titles throughout his life. He worked as an electrician for City Public Service in San Antonio, civil service, worked on medical equipment in the VA Hospital, was the Vice President of Speed Fab Crete, owned and managed Farm & Ranch Supply in Boerne, Texas, owned and managed a car wash in Comfort, Texas, and was also a rancher on his property in Waring, Texas. Henry also proudly served in the United States Air Force for 4 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with cattle on his ranch, gardening, traveling, and deep sea fishing. He will be dearly missed by all that knew him. Funeral services will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at 3:00 pm, with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
