I graduated from Aransas Pass High School with Herlinda in 1957.  She was such a nice, sweet classmate.  I never heard anyone say a bad thing about her.  She was shy, but always smiling, and everyone loved her.  Only a couple of years ago did I learn that she lived here in San Antonio.  I regret that I did not contact her before she went to Heaven, but perhaps she can read this, or I can tell her how much I admire her when I get there.  I have fond memories of you, Herlinda. I will never forget when I was younger that I enjoyed bugging you, it was fun, and you were a good sport. What a great person you were, and what an amazing life. I truly enjoyed what a great sister you were to my grandpa; it meant so much to me, and I enjoyed talking with him about you and the conversations you two would have. I remember vacationing with my aunt Nena and my grandmother Clara. We went with my cousins and their parents. It is certainly one of my greatest memories. Back at a roadside motel my cousins and I jumped on the bed. Nena tried to control us but it was 4 against 1 (obviously the parents were gone). I think the air conditioner was too cold and Nena was worried the baby's baby would get sick but of course I didn't care. This only child was having fun being around the cousins.

I'm going to Miss You, Nena.Our weekly texting.And all your emojis you would send me.You were my Favorite Aunt and I would tell you often.You were a Sweet,Smart, Loving,Caring and Selfless Person.Thought about others before yourself.You were good to me and my Dad.I hope your with my Dad now,picking out those lotto numbers together,lol.Miss & Love You,until I see you again.💜

I will miss my aunt Nena. I always remember going to her house and playing with my cousins and sometimes I was lucky I got to spend the night at Nena's house on the weekends. We watch movies and make popcorn. It was so much fun.

Thank you, Nena, for all the prayers you dedicated to us. Also, for all those Christmas shopping sprees we did together.

My name is Herminia Rodriquez Cristan and I too lived in Aransas and Alice and Erlinda were both friends of mine.  When I would spend the night with Alice, Erlinda was always there and was a good listener. Once in a while she would comment on something. She was a quiet person but a kind person. We would talk about boys but I never saw her with one.  Freddy mentioned that Erlinda was in a ballet with Alice and so was I. There used to be a cement platform by the water front that we would dance on and when we were through dancing, people would throw coins to us in gratitude. Of course everyone rushed to pick up the money as fast as we could.   And yes our instructor was Don Panchito ( Alice and Erlindas dad).  We had beautiful times the three of us walking home from school but as far as going out, Erlinda would always stay home.  I do remember Alice calling Erlinda, Nena. She was a pretty girl and looked so much like Alice.  Thank you for sharing and allowing me to be part of my old friends life.
