Mr. Hermenegildo “Hermen” Castellon, Jr. born October 7, 1945 in San Antonio, Texas to Hermenegildo and Genoveva Castellon, Sr. After a long battle with Alzeheimer’s and diabetes, he went home to be with our Lord Tuesday, March 19, 2019. Hermen was preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Diana H. Castellon, parents Hermenegildo and Genoveva Castellon, Sr., brother and sister-in-law Alfredo and Maria De La Fuente, and brother-in-law Rex A. Brien. He is survived by his sisters, Julia C. Brien of San Antonio, Texas, Margaret C. Vieyra (Raul, Sr.) of Atascosa, Texas, and brother, John M. Castellon (Argelia) of Sabinas, Mexico as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
Mr. Castellon was a graduate of Fox Tech High School. He worked for Labatt Foods and then at Fort Sam Houston as a Mechanical Technician. Mr. Castellon was a proud American who served his country in the United States Army for four years active duty in Military Intelligence, and an additional 34 years in the Army Reserve, as an instructor, where he reached the rank of Master Sergeant.
Hermen will be greatly missed by his loved ones. He always joked with his great nieces and nephews by asking them for money. His smile and the immense love for his family and country will never be forgotten.
