Hilario Garcia, born on November 20, 1946, was called to be with the Lord on December 1, 2019, at the age of 73. He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Margarita Garcia; and daughter, Debbie Garcia. Hilario is survived by his loving wife, SanJuana Garcia; his children: Joel Garcia (Patricia), Fernando Garcia (Marlene), Julie Garcia, and Marty Garcia (Darra); his grandchildren: Savannah, Fernando Jr., Julian, Lucius, Victoria, Conrad, Ella, Alejandro, and Jayden; his siblings: Ricardo Garcia, Mary Acuna, Carmen Carrola, Tony Garcia, Martin Garcia, Rudy Garcia, Louie Garcia, and Lupe Garcia, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.
Mr. Hilario Garcia served his country honorably in the United States Marine Corps and proudly served in the Vietnam War in 1969. Hilario worked as a journeyman plumber for many years and would weld copper lines into figurines for his children and grandchildren. A true craftsman at heart, Hilario enjoyed beautifying his home with his creations and also working in his yard planting Marigolds. After he proudly served in the Marine Corps, Hilario would take on a Mr. Mom role at home, caring for his children and home. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 11, 2019, at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino, 2525 Palo Alto Road, with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. On Thursday, December 12, 2019, the Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church, 1918 Palo Alto Road, at 9:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at 11:15 a.m.
