

Homero S. Martinez, age 83, passed away peacefully on March 12, 2026, in San Antonio, Texas. Born on October 13, 1942, in Coahuila, Mexico, Homero lived a life defined by love, hard work, and quiet strength.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather whose gentle spirit touched everyone who knew him. For more than 50 years, he shared a deep and unwavering love with his wife, Esther Martinez, who stood by his side through every season of life. He was a proud father to his sons, Homero Martinez, Jr. and Eric Martinez and wife Brandy, and a beloved grandfather to Michael, Valerie, Gabriella, and Allison, all of whom brought him immense joy.
He is also survived by his sisters Ludivina, Estella, and Socorro, as well as his sisters in law Maria and Herlinda.
Homero was preceded in death by his parents, Refugio and Juanita Martinez, and his brothers, Baldemar and Natividad.
A hardworking truck driver throughout his life, Homero took great pride in providing for his family. Outside of work, he found happiness in the outdoors or family casino trips.
Those who knew him will remember him as a kind and gentle man—patient, steady, and full of quiet wisdom. He was a great man, a loving husband, and a devoted father and grandfather whose presence will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held on March 23, 2026 from 5:00 PM - 9:00 PM at Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM.
