Hope Garza

The brightest light in our lives has been dimmed, our mother "Hope," who made our lives wonderful with love, laughter, and strength. Even though she has passed away, that light will shine with us forever. Hope Garza, age 80, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2017 in San Antonio. She was a native San Antonian, born on October 6, 1936 to the late Alfredo Silva and Mary Torres. Hope was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Fred Garza, Jr.; son, Freddie Garza; and brother, Ramiro Silva. She is survived by her daughter, Mary A. Gonzales and her husband Robert and their children, Jeff and his wife Mandy and Chris; son, Michael Garza and his children, Hannah, Rachel, and Sam; son, Richard Garza, and his wife Stephanie, and his children, Richie and Renata; daughter, Susan Garza and her husband Romeo, and their son, Ryan; granddaughter, Amber Garza, daughter of her late son Freddie Garza; sisters, Alice Galindo, Janie Cardenas, and Stella Reeves. Hope is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary being recited at 7:00 PM, on Friday, August 18, 2017, at Porter Loring Mortuary North Chapel.
