

Howard was born in Avinger, Texas on February 22, 1921.
He was a veteran of World War II where he served with the Eighth Air Force European Theater. He retired from Kelly AFB with 37 years of dedicated military and civilian service. Howard attended the University of Missouri as an Aviation Student, obtained an Associate Degree at San Antonio College, then attended the University of Texas at San Antonio seeking a Business Bachelor of Arts Degree. He was a member of Coker Methodist Church, Kelly Masonic Lodge 1131 AF and AM, Life Member Air Force Association, Life Member Texas State Rifle Association, and Life Member National Rifle Association.
He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Richard Glenn Connor; brothers, Paul D. Connor and R.C. Connor; and sister, Mae Pratt.
He is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sharon Connor; son, Ronald Connor, M.D.; daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Frank Hart; his partner of over 45 years, Tina Uribe; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many friends.
He lived a life filled with honor and integrity. His loving spirit and energy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever, and will be dearly missed.
The family would like to thank his caregivers, Carol Lewis and Norma Gaytan; and Vitas Hospice for their dedicated and loving care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Monday, March 22, 2010 at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
