SFC Howard James Rhodes, Jr. retired U.S. Army, passed away June 15, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1944 to Howard and Meta Rhodes. Howard loved to travel especially to Las Vegas. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is survived by his siblings, Harriet Kearney, Harry Rhodes and Barbara Rhodes; life partner, Daniel M. Alcock; nieces, Paulette and Lekai; nephew, Cornelius; great-nieces, Taylor and Cassidy; great-nephew, Khyle and Howard’s loving pet dog, Carly. A memorial service will be conducted at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Monday, June 30, 2014 at 2:00 P.M.
