Howard Dax McCracken

Howard Dax McCracken, born October 30, 1935, entered rest on Tuesday, February 15, 2011 at the age of 75. Dax was a graduate of the University of Illinois, where he was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. He was a commercial realtor in Austin and San Antonio. He enjoyed song writing and arranging tours to Mexico. His greatest past time was meeting new friends at Jim’s Restaurants. Dax was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Marjorie McCracken and his sister, Marjorie Rose. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Acevedo; daughter, Marci DeClaris and husband Wade; daughter, Margaret McCracken and husband Joel Plotch; son, Dax P. McCracken and wife Jennifer; daughter, Megan McCracken; grandchildren, Alexandra, Victoria and Nicholas DeClaris, Solomon Plotch, Madeleine, Vivienne, Mary Margaret and Elizabeth McCracken; brother, John McCracken and wife Nila; numerous other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday February 20, 2011 from 5:00pm until 8:00pm with a rosary at 7:00pm at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, TX 78218.
