Humberto Molina went home to be with our Lord and Savior on December 5, 2017 after an extended illness. He passed away peacefully in his home surrounded by his loving family. He was a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather and great-grandfather, and amazing friend to all who knew him.
Born to the late Donaciano Molina and Insela Molina, Beto, as he was better known, was a lifelong resident of San Antonio where he was loved and admired by those who knew him. He took great joy in talking about his adventures as an Eagle Scout and a Cadet Colonel at Fox Tech High School. However, he was especially proud to have honorably served our Country in the U.S. Army. Humberto was a small business owner in the Westside of San Antonio. Many people knew that their automobiles would be in good hands at Molina Mobil Service. Beto was a man of God who loved to serve in the greeting ministry at Mac Arthur Park Church of Christ as well as at Oak Hills Church - Crown Ridge Campus. His smile and handshake would make everyone feel welcome as they entered the church doors.
Beto will be remembered for his warm smile, his giving nature, his ability to make others feel special, the mischievous twinkle in his eye—as well as his joy at hearing any family news. Beto lived a life of dignity, duty, and generosity. He loved his family with all his heart and was proud of all their accomplishments.
Beto was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Mary Louise Molina.
Humberto is survived by his wife and best friend of 57 years, Yolanda R. Molina; two daughters and a son-in-law, Melissa and Garry Clark and Suzel Molina of San Antonio; three grandchildren and spouses, Sean and Nicole Anderson of San Antonio; Micah and Mark Golden of Sacramento, California; Megan and Brett Olsen of Eugene, Oregon; four great-grandchildren; sister, Carmen M. Steele; brothers and sisters-in-law, and nieces and nephews.
The Molina family would like to sincerely thank the medical professionals who took such excellent care of Humberto:
Dr. Pendleton Wickersham and Dr. Edward Sargent who attended to Humberto throughout his long illness with professionalism and personal care; the Kindred Hospice Staff in particular, Adelina Ortiz-Bokako RN, who provided compassionate care during his final stages of life; and Gloria Flores and Rosy Mata, Humberto's caregivers who lovingly and graciously cared for him in the last years of his illness.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 12th from 6:00pm-7:00pm at Porter Loring Mortuary on McCullough, followed by a celebration of life from 7:00pm-8:00 pm
A private family burial service will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Kindred Hospice, 4440 South Piedras Drive Suite 125, San Antonio, TX 78228 or the charity of your choice.
