Moving to San Antonio in 1948 with her military husband, Ida and Monroe established a local medical practice and began raising their family.
She is survived by her three children, Rose Cortez, Joanne Cornbleet and Joseph Albert; three grandchildren, Gaspar Albert Cortez, Juliann Cortez and Jennifer Cornbleet and one great grandson, Malakai Magharing, son of Ronald Magharing and Juliann Cortez.
A social Butterfly in her early days, Ida was a consummate member of countless civic organizations; loved and endeared by countless family and friends, she will be missed dearly.
