

She was very active her whole life. She taught school for over 35 years and was active in her church, Windcrest United Methodist Church. Ida was the tour director for Roots, a travel club, with Windcrest UMC and traveled all over the world with them going to every continent except Africa and Antarctica. She was also a member of the Jolly Jubilee Jammers Jug Band.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Raybon M. Underwood; and her siblings, Ann Martin, Ora Canciamilla, Baxter Armstrong and Ernest Armstrong. Surviving are her sons, Michael Underwood (Martha), Ron Underwood (Marti); grandchildren, Kristin Underwood, Kathryn Braun (David), Micah Underwood, Ethan Underwood; great-grandchildren, Kyle Underwood and Scarlett Underwood.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 14, 2015 from 7:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at Sunset Funeral Home. A celebration of her life will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Windcrest United Methodist Church, 8101 Midcrown, 78239. She will be laid to rest in a private service at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
