Idene "Mamoo" Preest

Mom was born Big Wells, Texas to Pedro and Emelia Gutierrez on Nov. 27, 1951. She went to school in Beaumont, Texas. She married Clyde Roger Preest on January 27, 1979 in Grove City, Ohio. She graduated from Monterey Nursing, she worked as a LVN for 29 years. She was involved at her church for serval years, until she was not able to drive herself. In her last years of her life, she enjoyed traveling and taking a chance on the Lotto scratch offs and while going through her documents we found serval of the scratch off sheets. Mainly, she enjoyed her babies (Great great kids) and play her online games.

Mom is preceded in death by her parents Pedro and Emelia Gutierrez and her husband Roger Preest.

Idene Preest is survived by her Daughter Janie Kennemur and Allen Kennemur, her Son Johnny Maldonado and Tracy Maldonado, Daughter Becky Preest. Grandchildren Nyxi, Matthew, Jared, Melissa, Jennifer, Zane and 11 great-Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home, located at 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas, 78218, on November 22, 2025, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

A chapel service will follow at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm on November 22, 2025.

Idene Preest will be laid to rest at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery with her husband. Arrangements are by Sunset Funeral Home.
