Ignacio P. Avila

Ignacio P. Avila, born on July 31, 1927 went to be with our Lord on January 26, 2019, at the age of 91. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Juan and Maria Avila; wife, Maria L. Avila; daughter, Gloria Linda Martinez; siblings, Juan Avila, Jesse Avila, Jesus Avila, Joe Avila and Dolores Estrada. He is survived by his loving children, Maria Teresa Gonzales (Raymond Galvez), Rosa Avila Negrete and Veronica Baiza (Ralph); grandchildren, Gerard Avila (Marsha), Juan Martinez (Anabell), Richard Martinez, Jr., Vangie Vasquez, Ronney Martinez (Rosie), Valerie Martinez, Rosenda Mechaca (David), Jennifer Baiza, Lauren Baiza, Colt Baiza and T-Rex Galvez; followed by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Ignacio enjoyed spending his building many crafts out of wood. He was well known for watching his western movies, going shopping and socializing at the senior centers. He also loved spending his time with his family, friends and church family. Visitation will be held Monday, February 4, 2019, at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home 226 Cupples Rd. from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. with interment to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
