Ignacio was a devoted husband, loving father, caring grandfather, and a great friend. He loved music and dancing. He enjoyed going downtown every year to Fiesta to celebrate. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones and friends at Kickapoo. Nacho was soft spoken and a great listener. Nacho was a loyal fan of the San Antonio Spurs. Nacho's favorite restaurant and last birthday was celebrated at Mamacitas. Nacho enjoyed spending time with his "adopted" son John Victor Del Castillo III, his nieces Alexis Uresti, Ashley Garza, Amber Garza, Liza Luna, and Aria and Avery Marmentini who referred to him as Grandpa Nacho. He retired from Exxon of 35 years in 2005. He battled cancer head on with courage with his wife caring for him through his difficult journey. He spent the last months of his life surrounded by his wife and loved ones.
He lived everyday to the fullest. His life was a blessing and his memory a treasure. We will miss you dearly Nacho. Please come and join the family of Ignacio “Nacho” Gil as we honor and pay tribute to the wonderful life he lived.
