Ilse (Stood) Scott, born April 3, 1932 in Dillenburg Germany, died on March 19, 2016. After living through WWII she married her husband Furman and became an Army wife for 20+ years. During this time she gave birth to a daughter, son and two more daughters. She kept the home and family together in times of war, Korea and Vietnam, and during the more peaceful times.
She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and a great-grandmother. Being a mother was her passion. She never met a child that she couldn't coax a smile or a laugh from and that was very evident by all her kids, grand and great grandchildren.
She worked in sales for over 30 years using her gift for decorating and helping families make a home. She loved flowers, and her gardening skills were known in her Tennessee neighborhood. Her flower beds were admired by everyone. She loved her desserts especially chocolate…how could she not being from the country that has some of the best chocolate there is.
Having been physically healthy, her last few days came with little warning but gratefully, her family did have time to say their final goodbyes.
She is survived by her daughter, Susie Ann DeMarco and husband Greg DeMarco; son, Furman Scott Jr. and wife Hiltrud Essing; daughter, Kathy Yvonne Scott and daughter, Karen L. Scott; granddaughter, Vanessa Lynn Elledge and husband John Elledge, and grandson, Christopher Scott Nunn; great-grandchildren, Parker Alan Elledge and Truitt Scott Elledge; and three of seven siblings, her sisters Liesel, Annemarie, and Irmgard. She was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to either the Alzheimer's Association www.alz.org or the Diabetes association www.diabetes.org .
Visitation will be held Saturday, March 26, 2016 from 1:00-4:00 p.m. at Susie DeMarco's home in New Braunfels.
