Ingeborg Lydia Buech (nee Weingerl) finally reunited with her beloved husband of 57 years on July 3, 2015. Born in Vienna, Austria in 1932, she spent her childhood in the midst of World War II, and left for England at the tender age of 18 to pursue a degree in Nursing. Upon graduation and becoming a Registered Nurse, she moved to Scotland and earned an additional degree in Midwifery. Inge immigrated to the United States in the mid 1950's, settling in New York, where she met and married the love of her life, Gerhard. Inge loved life: she approached life, art, music and cooking with passion and excitement, and believed in lifelong learning. She took Ikebana classes to learn the fine art of flower arranging. She was active in the Whispering Oaks and Churchill Estates Garden clubs. As a music lover, she volunteered for many years with the Symphony League, spent two decades as a Docent at the McNay Museum, sharing her love of art with children and adults, and sharing her knowledge so others could appreciate and understand the meaning behind so many works. Inge was a member of Bibliophiles, and as an avid reader, always had a book at her side. As one of the original members of the San Antonio Professional Tour Guide Association, she made sure to share our Texas History with accuracy and was a fabulous story teller. Inge taught cooking, and everyone that had the opportunity to know her enjoyed her gourmet creations ... her excellence and skills were legendary. In later years she reveled in being a grandmother, which brought her so much joy and pride. Inge leaves behind her grieving daughters, Christina Buech Albert, Claudia Buech Price (and husband Russell), and granddaughter, Cassidy Bickmore Albert.
A Memorial Service and celebration of her life will be held Saturday, July 11, 2015, at 3 pm, Porter Loring North (2102 North Loop 1604 East 78232). A reception will follow at the home of Christina and Cassidy Albert.
